The annual Hope Chest Buffalo Niagara Dragon Boat Festival in support of breast cancer survivors is set to return this Saturday.

Back for an 11th edition, the free festival will feature races at Buffalo RiverWorks, a 50/50 drawing, basket raffle, merchandise sale, refreshments and children’s activities.

All proceeds will benefit Hope Chest of Buffalo.

"The annual Buffalo Niagara Dragon Boat Festival is the primary fundraiser for Hope Chest," said Hope Chest Board Member Deb Carella. "This event enables us to raise significant funds to allow us to continue the mission of Hope Chest while incorporating paddling exercise into a fun, competitive event for Breast Cancer survivors and the Western New York community. This year we are excited to be hosting a team from California that will also be competing in the Breast Cancer Survivor division. Those not interested in paddling can come out and support the teams and participate in our Basket Raffle, 50/50 drawing and other family-friendly events."

Organizers say a carnation ceremony will take place in tribute to women who have lost their lives to breast cancer and to those who are continuing to fight.

More information, including a full schedule for the event, can be found on Hope Chest Buffalo's website.
